Is 10 stitches a lot?
As I sat in the emergency room with my hand wrapped in gauze, I couldn’t help but wonder: is ten stitches a lot? The physical pain was nothing compared to the emotional turmoil I was experiencing. Ten stitches meant ten reminders of my fall, ten scars to constantly revisit the moment of my clumsiness. But in the grand scheme of things, perhaps ten stitches were just a small price to pay for a lesson in humility and a newfound appreciation for my own mortality.
